First time running OMFIT¶
The first time OMFIT is started users will have to:
Accept the OMFIT users agreement form
Enter their email address in the Preferences GUI
Here is a short Google Doc that guides through these steps
Courseware¶
Read the courseware and start using OMFIT readily [here in PDF] * It’s an editable Google presentation ! Feel free to contribute!
Physics modules tutorials¶
Many of the physics modules have tutorials associated with them. Check the individual Physics modules page.

Learn by example with the Tutorial module¶
The TUTORIAL module in OMFIT comes with a series of sample scripts that illustrate some common functionalities used in physics modules. The source code is available within OMFIT by importing the TUTORIAL module (File > Import modules > TUTORIAL) just like other physics modules.
